Service Description

FOR WILLARD (RIVER FOREST) STUDENTS ONLY Mixed Media Art Exploration This class will explore the important foundational techniques of ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture and more. In a small group, students will have fun exploring a variety of art making techniques in a range of materials, from oil pastels to clay to paint. If your child has taken a Slowfire class before, this class will have all new projects. For any ceramic projects, we will be firing and glazing their works, which requires time for the clay to dry, and the kilns to fire, so please note students will be bringing their work home at the end of the session! All materials, plus outside labor and kiln fees, are included in the cost of the class. All materials and kiln firings included in the cost of the class. Grades K-4 Taught by Metzli 1.9, 1.23, 1.30, 2.6, 2.13, 2.27, 3.5 (7 classes) No Class 1.16 or 2.20 With a small student to teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late.
