Dive into a world of ocean-inspired creativity in Under the Sea Ceramics! In this playful and skill-building class, students will explore the wonders of marine life while learning foundational handbuilding techniques in clay. Young artists will sculpt sea turtles, coral reefs, tropical fish, mermaids, treasure chests, and more — bringing underwater worlds to life through texture, form, and color. Students will learn coil, slab, and sculptural techniques as they shape their creations, add surface details, and experiment with glazing to achieve shimmering ocean effects. Throughout the semester, Ms. Priscilla guides students step-by-step while encouraging imagination and individual expression. Whether creating a realistic sea creature or inventing a mythical underwater friend, students build confidence in their skills and pride in their finished pieces. With small class sizes and a supportive studio environment, Under the Sea Ceramics is perfect for artists who love animals, storytelling, and getting their hands a little muddy. No previous experience is needed — just curiosity and a love of the ocean! Grades K-5 Taught by Priscilla Mondays 3:00-4:30pm Snack Time followed by 1 hour Art Lesson March 16th - May 18th 03/16, 03/23, 04/06, 04/13, 04/20, 04/27, 05/04, 05/11, 05/18 CLOSED 03/30 With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late
