Adult Ceramic Options
Whether you're trying ceramics for the very first time or looking for a more independent studio experience, Slowfire offers three ways to participate in our ceramics community.
Each option is designed to support different experience levels, schedules, and creative goals while providing access to one or more of our three studio locations.
Our studios feature a variety of pottery wheels, handbuilding equipment, professional tools, templates, slab rollers, and dedicated glazing areas with more than 15 custom cone 6 glazes. We're also excited to offer cone 10 clay bodies, reduction gas firings, and a growing selection of cone 10 glazes, giving artists the opportunity to explore both oxidation and reduction firing techniques.
Multi-Week Ceramics Class
Best for: Beginners to Advanced Beginners who want structure and guidance.

Meet at a consistent weekly class time and build skills step-by-step through demonstrations, group instruction,
and individualized support from your teacher.

Includes:
• 2.25-hour weekly class session
• Group instruction and demonstrations
• Individual guidance
• Clay included
• Glaze and underglaze included
• Access to group damp box or damp room for storing work
• Teacher assistance with clean-up and glazing

Tuition: $60/week for set block of weeks
Flexible Ceramics Program (Ongoing Monthly)
Location: Slowfire West

Best for: Advanced beginners to intermediate potters looking for flexibility while continuing to receive personalized instruction.
Held at our newest location, Slowfire West, the Flexible Adult Program allows you to choose class times that work with your schedule while continuing to learn and grow as a ceramic artist. At the beginning of each month, you'll receive access to a shared Google Calendar where you can select the class dates and times that best fit your schedule.

Students enjoy a spacious, fully equipped ceramics studio featuring multiple styles of pottery wheels, handbuilding equipment, slab rollers, templates, specialty tools, and dedicated glazing areas with more than 15 custom cone 6 glazes. We also offer three clay bodies, including cone 6 and cone 10 options, along with cone 10 glazes and both electric and gas kiln firing, giving students the opportunity to explore oxidation and reduction firing. Best of all, there are no additional firing fees for gas kiln firings.

Adult Studio Membership

Best for: Intermediate to advanced potters seeking independence, extended studio access, and a dedicated creative community.

Our Adult Studio Membership is designed for ceramic artists who are comfortable working independently and want the freedom to create on their own schedule. Located at Slowfire East, our members-only studio is reserved exclusively for adult members, providing a quiet, focused environment free from the interruptions of daily classes and youth programming.
​
Members enjoy access to a professionally equipped ceramics studio featuring multiple styles of pottery wheels, handbuilding equipment, slab rollers, specialty tools, dedicated glazing areas with more than 15 custom cone 6 glazes, and a growing selection of cone 10 glazes. Members also have access to three clay body options and can fire work in both electric kilns and our cone 10 gas reduction kiln at Slowfire West, allowing artists to explore both oxidation and reduction firing at no additional firing cost.
