Service Description

Slowfire at The Children’s School Slowfire at TCS is an enrollment-based after-school art program for TCS students. Children explore painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media in a supportive environment with a low student-to-teacher ratio. Each afternoon includes snack, free play, a 75–90 minute guided art lesson, and free-choice time. Slowfire is electronics-free unless devices are used for art reference. Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 3:15–5:30 p.m. Wednesday: 2:15–5:30 p.m. Flexible pickup until 5:40 p.m. Registration Families register for the same selected day or days each week. This consistency helps teachers know each child and allows students to complete multi-step projects, including ceramics. Slowfire is not a drop-in program. Enrolled families may request an occasional additional day in advance, subject to availability and confirmation. Pricing Two or more days per week: $33/day; Wednesdays $35 One day per week: $35/day; Wednesdays $37 Sibling discount: 5% for the additional sibling Pricing includes instruction, supervision, materials, and ceramic firing. A $100 initial payment secures enrollment. Tuition is billed on the 20th for the upcoming month. One month’s notice is required to pause or cancel. Enrollment is limited to 10–13 students per day, with approximately six or seven students per teacher. Pickup after 5:40 p.m. is subject to a $20 late fee. Lead Teacher: Ms. Fernanda
