Service Description

In this hands-on ceramics class, students will create deceptively realistic sculptures inspired by the world around them. Using clay as their primary material, artists will learn to shape, build, and refine detailed pieces that closely resemble real-life objects — from playful everyday items to imaginative creations. Throughout the semester, students will develop strong handbuilding skills, including slab, coil, and sculptural techniques. They will explore form, structure, texture, and surface design while learning how to transform a simple lump of clay into something expressive and convincing. As their skills grow, students will have the opportunity to design and create their own original ceramic projects. No previous experience is needed! Beginners will build foundational skills, while those with experience can refine and expand their artistic style with Ms. Salma's guidance. Grades 2-5 Taught by Salma Wednesdays 2:30-4 September 2 -December 16 CLOSED 11/25 15 sessions Online deposit: $200, remainder $293.00 invoiced October 1 and due by October 15 For an additional fee of $14, your child can stay until 5:30. You can request this on the intake form. 5 kids minimum, 8 kids max With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming.
