Service Description

Ms. Evelyn, a children's therapist and artist, will lead young students through fun arts and crafts projects designed to build small motor skills, develop flexibility around choice and transitions, foster creativity, and promote confidence in ceramics! This class covers skills such as wedging and handbuilding with small tools. It will delve deeper into use of large tools such as the extruder and the slab roller. We will focus on the art of hand building, creating functional ceramic pieces, using a variety of techniques such as pressed platters, slab built mugs and coil constructed bowls. Students should bring an apron and rags to class. All materials (clay & glazes) and associated costs ( clay recycling, kiln firings, and glaze firings) included in the cost of the class. Ages 5-8 + Their Adult 9:00-10:00am A La Cart enrollment Price covers adult and child! The program will be led by Ms. Evelyn, who has a degree in psychology and painting/drawing from Dominican University. She has been working as a therapist for children with special needs for the last five years in Chicago. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded.
