For this of you familiar with Hayao Miyazaki’s animated films, you surely remember the steaming bowls of noodles, inviting cups of tea, sizzling meats, and delectable desserts. In this class we took those visuals and created our own versions of those evocative foods. We steamed giant, fluffy red bean buns, cooked up steamy bowls of ramen soup with slices of ham and gooey eggs, cracked eggs to cook up with thick-cut bacon to serve with a fresh-baked loaf of bread, simmered a mackerel in a miso and ginger sauce, and much more. It was a fun week, and the students learned a lot of Japanese cooking techniques and traditions and tried many new foods along the way! Ms. Kristi
We are holding this as a class this fall!
