Camp Week 6

Musicals! Music & Art Camp It's musicals week at Slowfire! For 90 minutes a day, students choose, learned and played a wide range of musical theater songs on different instruments with Rock Hand Music. Then they drew cameras and playbills with Metzli. With Alice, students worked on creating custom bobble heads based on a character of their choice. Once a character was selected, we created the bobble heads with model magic and wire to make the springs. Campers also got to create their very own zines from folding and cutting to sketching and drawing. Here at Slowfire, we make sure that we extend our lunch time so students can eat lunch and be able to play outside at Slowfire Grove. Once done with projects, students were able to get face paint, make buttons, draw and so much more. Big thanks to our team: Alice, Metzli and Shane for an amazing week at camp. Spaced Out! & Afternoon Enrichment Camps With out of this world teachers students were able to play/make out of this world things! Mornings started off with excellent drumming lessons from Rock Hands Music, starting the day with a bang. We made handbuilt ceramic rocket ships out of pinch pots. Made a space window porthole, paper collage rockets, made our own space theme stickers, and galaxy slime. Students were able to get fresh air at nearby Scoville Park due to its clpse proximity to The Children’s School, where this camp is. Huge thanks to our team Salma, Maisie, Priscilla, Emily, Shane and Jake for an amazing week at camp.

Give it a Spin!: Wheel Camp At our beginner wheel camp, students were able to learn the foundational parts of wheel throwing from our knowledgeable instructors. Students were able to do cupcakes with coil and pinch pot techniques . Students were able to also practice decorating by using underglaze and glaze. Our instructors: Noelle, Tyler, Jeny and Fernanda were there to help students each step of the way.

Anime Eats! Anime is the theme all week! At our anime eats camp, students eats all things anime! With assistance from Chief Kristi, students made: Miso Ramen, Checkerboard Cookies, Mochi, Miso Ramen, Nikuman and so much more!
