FOR LINCOLN ELEMENTARY (RIVER FOREST) STUDENTS ONLY REGISTRATION OPENS December 14th @5pm In this playful class, students will explore mixed media artmaking inspired by candy, color, and creative experimentation. Guided by Slowfire teachers Ms. Maisie and Ms Salma, young artists will use a variety of materials—paint, paper, clay, collage, and more—to create imaginative projects. Students will learn how to mix textures, layer colors, and combine 2D and 3D techniques as they design candy-inspired works like lollipop sculptures, gumdrop mosaics, and sprinkle-painted pop art. Each project encourages creativity and skill-building while introducing key concepts like composition, color theory, and form. From glossy “chocolate” finishes to rainbow “sugar” patterns, every week is a new candy-coated adventure! 🎨 All materials and kiln firings are included in the class cost—just bring your imagination! Thursdays Grades K-4 1/15, 1/22, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26 NO CLASS 1/29, 2/26 9 Weeks 3:15pm-5:00pm $352- $38/class + $10 Fundraiswer With a small student to teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late.
