Ready to level up your wheel skills? Immerse yourself in the art of ceramics with this 7-week wheel throwing course designed for both beginners and those with some prior experience. You’ll refine the fundamentals — centering, shaping, trimming, and glazing — while exploring more advanced forms and techniques at your own pace. With plenty of personalized instruction and creative encouragement, students will gain confidence, control, and artistic expression at the wheel. Classes include everything you need — high-quality clay, tools, glazes, and firings — with no surprise costs, just the full Slowfire experience! Please bring an apron and rags. $418 7 Weeks Thursdays 7:00-9:15pm 01/08, 01/15, 01/22, 01/29, 02/05, 02/12, 02/19 Taught by Belen Taught by Belen - Belen is a full time ceramic artist with over 12 years of experience in wheel thrown and handmade ceramics. She holds an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Morton College and has been teaching ceramics since 2018. Her work blends traditional forms with everyday inspiration, often reflecting her culture and surroundings. In addition to teaching, she sells her small batch ceramics at local markets and shops.She is passionate about helping others connect with clay, creativity, and community through hands on learning. With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded.
