Week 3 Camp Pictures and More!

GALLERY OF IMAGES BELOW!

ALL ABOUT ANIMALS camp (ages 4-8) Our youngest campers are having so much fun making art about animals! Students have made ceramic animal mobiles, snake coil plates, snake paper chain links, shark headbands, animal masks, and more! The children will be heading to Lincoln Park Zoo tomorrow with Ms. Maliya and Ms. Maisie in Vincent Van-GO!

BRIT POP Music and Art camp (ages 8-11) At this camp, students receive a 90 minute painting/drawing lesson daily, a 90 min ceramics lesson daily AND a 90 minute rock band lesson daily with Mr. Shane of Penny Lane Music. Each teacher has dedicated lesson plans and expertise in their field. Mr Shane has a full band set up with guitars, keyboard, drums, microphones and more. Students get to enjoy our dedicated ceramics studio and our specialty painting/drawing room. On site, we also have picnic tables, chill spaces with games, and we, of course, do park time at Fox Park!

With Ms. Metzli, Students are crafting perspective drawings of Abbey Road, self portraits inspired by Adele, and Harry Styles metallic fish. In ceramics class with Ms. Alice, students are creating slab built tea cups and saucers, slab built bowls, and Harry's House dioramas with clay. Our oldest learners threw on the wheel on Tuesday! With Mr. Shane, students have been learning new instruments and songs. We are so excited to hear their final songs this Friday for a little in camp showcase. We will post songs this weekend to our Facebook, Instagram and our little blog. Special thanks to our awesome teen assistants, Clem and Charlie.

At the Afternoon and TLSxSlowfire Art Camp with Ms. Joss and Ms. Diane, students have been exploring warm/cool landscapes with watercolor. Today, students made sculptural frogs and accessories and friends for their frogs! Students have been enjoying park time and tomorrow, Ms. Joss and Ms. Diane will lead the students in making dioramas of their dream libraries following a visit to the Main Branch of the Oak Park Public Library.

REAL or CAKE Campers: Ms Kristi has led the way in teaching students how to bake cakes, layer, cut, ice and do decorative techniques. They made extra large HAMBURGER cakes (see below). I am so excited to see what they make next!

Wheel Throwing Campers: They are having a blast with Mr Tyler and Ms Lauren, working on their wheel skills, handbuilding and glazing.
