Service Description

*Class for Beginning- Intermediate Student. In this very small group class, students will dive into the art of wheel-thrown pottery in this fun and hands-on class designed just for teens! Whether you're brand new to the wheel or looking to build on the basics, this class will guide you through the essentials of throwing, trimming, and glazing your own ceramic pieces. We'll start with cylinders and bowls, then move into more advanced forms like mugs, plates, and altered shapes as your skills grow. You'll also learn about surface decoration, how to use studio tools, and tips for working independently at the wheel. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to get a little muddy! Students should bring an apron and rags to class. Ages 10-14 Min 3 students, max 5 students. Tuesdays 4:30-6:00pm 06/03, 06/10, 06/17, 06/24, 07/08, 07/15 CLOSED 07/01 All materials (clay & glazes) and associated costs ( clay recycling, kiln firings, and glaze firings) included in the cost of the class. With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late
