Service Description

Slowfire Art Club - Mixed Media is an after school art education program offering enrichment in the following mediums: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. Slowfire Art Club is taught by Alice and Salma. Our dedicated staff and low student:teacher ratio allows us to cultivate community, create personal connections, and teach art FUNdamentals. Daily Schedule: snack and a 75-90 min art lesson, followed by free choice as needed. Beye, Whittier & Longfellow Pick-Up offered between 3:00-3:15pm. $6.50/day for pick up. Other students drop off at 3:30pm. Pick up promptly at 5:30pm. We are an electronic free space, (unless used for art resource or reference).. This is an ongoing program with automatic enrollment through the end of the school year. You will be charged monthly, based on the number of classes that month. We follow the D97 schedule. $100 administrative deposit required to enroll. $38 per day ( includes all materials, processing and instructional time and SNACKS) SAVE 5% per day when you register for 2+ days! 2 months is the required initial commitment. Your card will be charged on the 20th of each month. 30 days notice is required for cancellation. Tuesdays After School-5:30 Program follows D97 calendar. First day is August 27th. Ages 7-11 907 S. Lombard Ave. All painting, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture materials included in the cost of the class. All ceramics materials (clay & glazes) and associated costs ( clay recycling, kiln firings, and glaze firings) included in the cost of the class. With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. No refunds once the course has begun and no make-ups available for group classes. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the class will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late
