Service Description

Campers are divided into 3 small groups based on age. Each group has their own lessons and rotate through projects and instructors. Ratio is 5/6 campers:1 teacher. This camp is taught by dedicated Slowfire teachers such as Dianne, Alice, Joss, Noelle, Tyler and Mr Shane of Penny Lane Music. This camp is held at our art house, Slowfire Grove. Slowfire Grove has 3 floors dedicated to art! SG has a music studio, ceramics studios, full kitchen, and drawing/painting spaces. Drop off between 8:30-8:45am on Euclid at Fox Park. Pick up at 4:00pm on Euclid at Fox Park DAILY SCHEDULE (Order differs based on Group) 90 minute rock band class with Mr Shane of Penny Lane Music * no previous music experience required. Students will have the opportunity to explore new instruments, such as the drums, bass, guitar, and piano, as well as work on vocals. 90 min art class focusing on painting, drawing, and fun crafts with Slowfire Art Staff 60 min Lunch Break and Outdoor Play at nearby Fox Park 90 minute ceramics class with Slowfire Art Staff (Students who can handle the size and maturity needed for the wheel will focus on wheel in the afternoon. Typically we start the wheel at age 10) Games, crafts, group fun activities Students will grow their skills through new experiences with multiple mediums, and exposure to art. Each week will have different projects that build on your child's skill sets. We highly recommend enrolling in more than one week, especially if ages 10+ and your child will learn the wheel. July 22-26 8:30am-4:00pm 629 S. Grove Ave. 6:1 Student/Teacher ratio Campers should bring a snack, packed lunch, sunscreen and water bottle with them. We are a tech free zone and ask that campers do not bring handheld gaming devices and any cell phones should be tucked away in a backpack. With a low Student/Teacher ratio, comprised of dedicated teachers and professors, the student class size is perfect to advance skillsets, while also creating a safe learning environment. While we teach excellent technique and form, we also aim to empower students in their authentic voice/artistry. Our teaching styles are inclusive and welcoming. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to the start of the camp will not be refunded. *A $20 late fee will be charged if a student is picked up more than 15min late
